خود اپنی زندگی سے الجھتا رہا ہوں میں
گھبرا کے اپنی راہ بدلتا رہا ہوں میں
شاید وہ دیکھ لے مری جانب بس ایک بار
محفل میں بار بار اسے تکتا رہا ہوں میں
غیروں نے تو کبھی کہیں بخشا نہیں مجھے
اپنوں کی آنکھ میں بھی کھٹکتا رہا ہوں میں
اس کی لگن کا میں نے جلایا تھا خود دیا
پھر اس کی لو میں آپ ہی جلتا رہا ہوں میں
اس آس میں کہ مہر و وفا کے گہر ملیں
ہر بحر دل کی تہہ میں اترتا رہا ہوں میں
مجھ کو تمہارے پیار کی منزل نہ مل سکی
چاہت کے راستوں میں بھٹکتا رہا ہوں میں
اے جوشؔ غمزدوں کے لیے بن کے جام مئے
دنیا کے مئے کدے میں چھلکتا رہا ہوں میں
